Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Critical Repair Process Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, this role ensure the stability, control, and continuous improvement of critical repair processes, guaranteeing product reliability, compliance with customer requirements and electronics industry standards, as well as minimizing quality risks and field failures

What a typical day looks like:

  • Define, implement, and control critical repair processes for electronic assemblies (PCBA) across SMT, ICT, backend, and functional test lines.
  • Perform root cause analysis using 8D, RCA, Ishikawa (Fishbone), Pareto, and Process FMEA.
  • Establish repair criteria and rework limits in accordance with IPC standards and customer requirements.
  • Validate repair equipment, tools, thermal profiles, and repair methods.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Quality, NPI, and Test during line stoppages or quality escapes.
  • Ensure full traceability of critical repairs within the manufacturing system.
  • Develop, update, and release work instructions, visual aids, and process documentation.
  • Train, evaluate, and certify repair technicians in accordance with IPC‑7711/7721.
  • Actively participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Authorize or reject critical repairs for work‑in‑process and finished goods.
  • Define scrapping requirements when product reliability (electrical or mechanical) is compromised.
  • Stop production flow in the presence of quality risks or non‑compliance with standards.
  • Approve temporary process deviations in coordination with Quality.

Experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.

Specific Technical Knowledge:

  • SMT and PHT processes.
  • Thermal profiler board creation.
  • Creation of machine repair profiles and interpretation of temperature profiles.
  • Operation and maintenance of rework equipment such as SRT, mini wave soldering, AIR‑VAC, soldering stations, among others.
  • Advanced PCBA repair (BGA, QFN, LGA, fine‑pitch components, pads, and traces).
  • IPC standards: IPC‑7711/7721, IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑033, J‑STD‑020.
  • ESD control in electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Lean tools and quality methods: Lean, 5W, SPC, PFMEA, flowcharts, and root cause analysis.
