Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a “DFx, Mechanical Technical Project Engineer” will be based in Guadalajara North, reporting to Sr Director Mechanical Manager……In charge for process-engineering capabilities focused on cost, quality and delivery improvements in order to hold up a manufacturing organization.

What a typical day looks like::

  • Customer Service focus & relationship management
  • Ensure successful collaboration within cross-functional teams, such as Program Management, Product Management, Product Development, Operations, Quality controls, regulatory and compliance
  • Drive results through cross-functional teams (supply chain, engineering, product and customer service excellence )
  • Provide leadership to engineering technical staff regarding project prioritization, process validations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Implement and manage resource planning and project management tools.
  • Creation of operational strategy documents including assessing manufacturing requirements
  • Determine the objectives and measures (KPIs)
  • Design and engineer moderately-complex protocols for assembly aids/jigs, fixtures and gages as per product specifications.
  • Lead/Participate in design reviews, internal and with customer.
  • Performs Design for Excellence (DFX) and driving VAVE projects, initiatives
  • Sharing designs & DFX with internal & external customer and implementing any relevant feedback in the new designs/concepts.
  • Developing prototypes and testing new designs, using DOE methodologies.
  • Carrying out qualification tests and trials on new designs, includes status reporting.
  • Creating documentation and designs using CAD software (Solidworks/AUTOCAD/CREO/CATIA)
  • Active participation with Global teams in Mechanical design reviews.
  • Scheduling meetings with customer, tooling site, project teams as required.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings and specifications
  • Implement cost effective tool design changes, active quote participation (Design for Cost, Quality, Volume, Automation).

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Experience in Product Introductions in Mechanical industry.
  • Experience in mechanical design & manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing process development, automation knowledge would be advantageous
  • Customer facing role, providing in depth technical analysis, concept proposals with use of comprehensive DFX/DFM analysis.
  • Excellent Knowledge of conventional hard tooling and stamping machine.
  • Tooling and process Automation experience would be advantageous.
  • Travel to Customer & Flex Global sites as and when required to provide design, engineering and manufacturing process support, conducting detailed reviews.
  • Fluent English >95% / Technical English >95%
  • 6S (5S + Safety) Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain and Safety
  • Focus Customer Service & Responsiveness

  • Project management,  Scheduling & tracking.
  • Supervise long term strategies for Tooling development.
  • Documentation development & revision controls.
  • Deadline-driven, meticulous, and consistently produce high-quality results.
  • BoM & technical documentation management
  • Knowledge of product
  • Process Mapping
  • Proficient use of industry standard DFX, DFM, DOE skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools & software
  • Relevant experience in design, process and product engineering best practices.
