Job SummaryJoin a multidisciplinary team working on innovative in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) systems based on optical and fluorescence detection technologies. As a Junior Optoelectronics / Hardware Engineering Trainee, you will contribute to the development of optoelectronic architectures, including light excitation, optical path, and signal detection.
What a typical day looks like:
- Support design and development of optoelectronic systems for fluorescence-based devices.
- Contribute to excitation source selection (LED vs laser, wavelength matching, stability).
- Assist optical chain definition (filters, dichroic mirrors, lenses).
- Support sensor and detection electronics (photodiodes, CMOS, APD, PMT exposure).
- Participate in lab activities (optical measurements, SNR evaluation, debugging).
- Contribute to signal acquisition and basic processing (ADC, filtering, calibration).
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and system engineers.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Participate in design reviews.
Here is some of what you'll need:
- Bachelor or Master in Electronic, Biomedical, or Optoelectronics Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of analog electronics and sensors.
- Interest in optical systems or photonics.
- Familiarity with lab instruments (oscilloscope, DAQ).
- Interest in medical devices and IVD technologies.
- Strong curiosity and teamwork attitude.
- Good English and Italian.
