To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Product Engineer located in Milpitas CA.

Reporting to the Director, Operations Engineering the Product Engineer plays a critical role in bridging engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure product integrity, manufacturability, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle. This role combines technical expertise with operational leadership to drive efficiency, quality, and scalability in production processes.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead product introduction and sustainment activities from concept through end-of-life.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Design, and Manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) principles are applied.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve throughput and yield.
  • Partner with Operations Managers, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and ramp-up activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs related to product performance, quality, and cost.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams and Kaizen events.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and engineering change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality systems.

The experience we're looking to add to our team,

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product or manufacturing engineering, preferably in high-tech or electronics industries.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and product development cycles.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, ERP systems, and data analysis platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
