Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Purchasing Direct Supervisor located in Guadalajara, South Campus.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Purchasing Direct Supervisor´s role involves being in charge of overseeing activities related to the procurement of direct materials, parts, components and equipment, and directs/coordinates activities of personnel engaged in procurement. 

General duties will include identifying and procuring the goods and services that an organization requires, manage all procurement-related activities. Maintain purchasing goals/metrics, develop purchasing policy and procedures and guide and mentor the team with regard to all purchasing activities to ensure value is achieved providing maximum value to the business. 

What a typical day looks like:

  • Assist management to establish roles and duties of purchasing goals 
  • Drive for Inventory Turn Over improvement per site targets 
  • Manage and optimize inventory at target levels 
  • Drive for 100% supplier on time delivery 
  • Initiate inventory control/cost containment to give in Purchase Price Variance 
  • Supervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and services 
  • Work closely with the team to ensure purchasing compliance to corporate directives 
  • Review controls to reduce exposures on End of Life Projects to minimize exposure on obsolete stock 
  • Help corporate excess materials internal programs (as appropriate) 
  • Deal with day-to-day operational issues with staff and act as escalation to unresolved HR issues to management 
  • Streamline Purchasing processes and develop integrated purchasing strategies to effectively manage the suppliers on order fulfillment and assurance of supply 
  • Direct, develop & implement policies, procedures, and metrics to effectively manage materials shortages & ensure order fulfillment.  
  • Creates and presents customized reporting using Microsoft Excel (reports for top purchasing management) 
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing, SMT, automated lines 
  • Create an environment that fosters team building & high performance 
  • Interface with both internal & external stakeholders to derive achievable targets, set up strategic plan and drive the team towards meeting the target as set forth 

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices
  • Guadalajara, South Campus
  • Fluent English, must have strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience in the purchasing/procurement area.
  • Supplier management and vendor communication.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • CPIM and CPM preferred
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Team player with strong organizational skills
