Job Summary

Summary:

The “Senior IT Engineer, IoT Devices & Server Maintenance” will be based in Dongguan, reporting to IT Manager.

Primarily responsible for the integration, operation, and maintenance of the company's IoT devices, as well as the administration and upkeep of backend server systems. Ensures high availability, stability, and data security for both IoT devices and servers. Participates in the design and implementation of IoT and server components within enterprise integration solutions, aligning IT services closely with business needs. This role focuses on maintaining overall system stability while contributing to the architecture design, installation, and configuration of related applications and devices.

Responsibilities:

  • IoT and Server Project Management: Rigorously manage and coordinate projects related to IoT deployment, databases, and server upgrades, ensuring well‑designed solutions and smooth implementation.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Participate in the strategic planning of the company's overall IT architecture, with a focus on the planning of IoT device architecture and server systems.
  • System Solution Implementation: Define, design, implement, and support IoT device integration solutions and backend server systems, including physical servers, virtual machines, operating systems, and databases.
  • Operations Manual Development: Develop standard operating procedures for the daily operation and maintenance of IoT devices and server systems.
  • Technical Knowledge Transfer: Ensure effective sharing of knowledge within the team regarding new technologies such as server virtualization and disaster recovery.
  • System Monitoring & Incident Response: Manage and configure DELL and HP servers, storage, and related equipment. Establish robust monitoring mechanisms to track equipment online status, server performance, and other key application metrics, and handle incidents reported by the O&M platform.
  • Cross‑Team Communication: Establish clear communication and feedback channels with internal teams, equipment vendors, and business units regarding database and server‑related issues.
  • Service Level Management: Comply with service level agreements with business units to ensure response time and availability of server systems.
  • Data Protection & Disaster Recovery: Ensure effective execution of server data backup and disaster recovery strategies, including data integrity for IoT‑collected data and the routine operation of database backup mechanisms, minimizing data loss during failures.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Quickly resolve issues such as server downtime or IoT device disconnections, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to improve system reliability.
  • Security & Compliance Management: Ensure server systems and IoT device access comply with company security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • System Performance Optimization: Provide recommendations for server hardware upgrades, system tuning, or IoT device firmware updates to enhance overall system performance.
  • Team Support & Training: Collaborate with the enterprise integration solutions team to build and maintain a knowledge base related to IoT and server technologies, provide training on new technologies to support teams.

Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: At least 7 years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry in relevant areas such as networking or server administration. Familiar with MES system principles and workflows in electronic manufacturing environments.
  • Professional Skills: Demonstrates advanced technical expertise along with foundational people‑management and process‑management capabilities.
  • Business Understanding: Shows strong understanding of how IT technologies support and enable business operations.
  • Breadth of Knowledge: Possesses broad knowledge of related technologies and processes, understands the connection between technical solutions and on‑site business operations.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior IT operations experience in foreign‑funded electronics manufacturing companies is a plus.
