Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who develop high-level products and contribute to the growth of the organization, we are looking to add a Senior Test Engineer, located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for leading test engineering activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing test process and equipment performance, and providing technical leadership to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and capability of test systems within a manufacturing environment.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities related to test failures, yield excursions, and equipment performance issues.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize test strategies, methodologies, and processes for electronic products.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as First Pass Yield (FPY), yield, downtime, capacity, equipment efficiency, and productivity.
  • Apply statistical tools and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to test engineers and technicians.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring successful implementation of robust and scalable test solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and executive presentations to communicate results, findings, and action plans to stakeholders and global internal customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal Flex customers to resolve technical challenges and standardize best practices.
  • Maintain and support functional test systems, AOI, AXI (X-Ray), ICT, and other manufacturing test platforms.
  • Analyze test and manufacturing performance data to identify optimization opportunities and process improvements.
  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for test equipment and stations.
Experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting and failure analysis of electronic products and test systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing, screening processes, AOI, AXI, and ICT systems.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, PDCA, or similar approaches.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience working with Python and Linux environments.
  • Ability to develop technical presentations and support recommendations through statistical analysis.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and coordinating teams of engineers and technicians.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience supporting power electronics products.
  • Knowledge of power supplies, battery backup systems, and power conversion technologies.
  • Experience with TestStand and PowerPro.
