Position Summary:

Manages an engineering team consisting of engineers, scientists, and technicians. Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of Engineering Department to design, process, project, develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services, while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
  • Analyzes technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates.
  • Manages development of material selection standards.
  • Recommends and implements new policies and procedures as directed.
  • Initiates cost reduction proposals from other sources, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action, and checks on results obtained.
  • Prepares and controls department budget, forecasts operating costs of department, and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.
  • Works on or serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge of a particular field of specialization.
  • Recruits employees; assigns, directs, and evaluates their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competencies. 
  • Develops local knowledge of business economics and trends of various industries and vertical markets, and how High Point solutions add financial and strategic values can assist in the growth of the business.
  • Establish collaborative relationships built on trust and commitment, and develops relationships at multiple levels within customer accounts and business partners.
  • Understand the customer's business model and helps the team identify an architecture and/or solution that provides ROI  
  • Administers HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, training, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, selection and placement of personnel, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering. 

Experience: 

5+ years of experience in manufacturing industry, including some management experience

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Office Environment

Ability to sit for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer

Compensation Range $116,604 - $171,020

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Fox reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
