Description
The Yard Driver operates yard trucks to shuttle trailers between designated locations and verifies trailer placement. This position will support the overall flow of freight by maintaining an organized yard, following safety protocols, and ensuring trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and Over the Road driver pickup.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive trailers to and from receiving/shipping docks inside the yard
- Work closely in a team environment to complete daily tasks and goals to include third party vendors
- Adherence to all company policies to include all safety rules
- Hooking and unhooking airlines to trailers
- Pre and Post Operation Audits
- Following instructions provided by two-way radio
- Reporting safety and mechanical issues promptly and accurately according to the standard operating procedure
- Support other departments of the Distribution Center as business requires
- Follow OSHA Regulations and all safety requirements
- Additional duties as assigned by manager

The anticipated rate for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. Requirements
Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
- Experience in driving trailers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)
Physical Requirements
- Grasping, pushing and pulling of materials on an intermittent basis for up to eight hours per day
- Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance on an intermittent for up to eight hours per day
- Reaching and working above and below the shoulder level on an intermittent basis for up to eight hours per day
- Bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and reaching heights on an intermittent basis for up to eight hours per day
- The Warehouse Associate must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
