Description

The Manager, Imagery Post-Production is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of post-production within Harbor Freight's high-volume, fast-paced paid media environment. This role bridges traditional post-production excellence with next-generation innovation, managing a team of video editors, photo retouchers, and asset managers while also driving the integration of AI tools across video and photo workflows.

This individual brings deep expertise in editing, retouching, and technical production, and is equally passionate about exploring how AI can enhance speed, quality, and creativity. They are experts in managing complex schedules, meeting fixed delivery deadlines, and maintaining quality standards across platforms. In addition to their creative and operational leadership, they serve as a key figure in the company's AI adoption journey—using, testing, and teaching AI tools that push the boundaries of what post-production can achieve.
This role is ideal for a seasoned post-production leader who thrives at the intersection of craft, innovation, and team development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of video post-production workflows, with hands-on or supervisory experience across video editing, motion graphics, and color workflows, and a clear knowledge of how footage moves from ingest to final delivery. Is familiar with Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Media Encoder.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of photo post-production workflows, with hands-on or supervisory experience across retouching, color management of images, integration with outside vendors for services like pathing and a clear knowledge of how images move from ingest to final delivery.
  • Manages the archiving of assets in a DAM system - ideally Adobe AEM. Works to develop out existing protocols and processes to include video and other types of assets to the existing image-only database.
  • Leads fast-paced video editing teams, preferably within an agency or in-house agency-style environment, balancing creativity with structure—keeping editors, retouchers, and asset managers focused and on track while managing overall workload.
  • Utilizes existing AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, DALL·E, Adobe Sensei, Google Imagen) to produce creative photo and video content, integrating them into workflows and consistently exploring new ways to enhance post-production. Trains the team on AI tools to ensure effective and creative use across the board.
  • Acts as a working manager with hands-on involvement in video editing, photo retouching, AI development, and other creative tasks as needed to maintain top-tier quality.
  • Mentors and trains team members, supporting growth in both traditional media production and emerging AI technologies.
  • Maintains technical fluency in video standards (formats, codecs, frame rates, and aspect ratios across platforms) and possesses a working understanding of photo post-production and retouching workflows, including file resolution requirements, color profiles, layer-based editing, and output formats. Has experience with DAM systems and photo archiving best practices.
  • Manages complex timelines with hard delivery dates, often juggling multiple overlapping campaigns. Builds schedules that account for versioning, stakeholder feedback, legal reviews, late changes, and bandwidth, with experience using tools like Workfront or similar project management platforms.
  • Ensures that all video and photo content meet Harbor Freight's standards for quality, particularly for paid media production.
  • Leads cross-functional AI integration efforts across all Marketing teams.
  • Streamlines workflows to balance high-quality content creation with efficiency, especially as AI tools are integrated into production.
