Description

The Process Improvement Analyst conducts business analysis efforts across retail operations with an emphasis on process creation, procedural refinement, and solution design. This position will also serve as a resource on cross-functional initiatives to ensure impact to store operations is defined and measured, as well as ensuring implementation is supported. The Process Improvement Analyst will support all aspects of key projects and initiatives which will contribute to the continued growth of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use queries to retrieve and analyze relevant data across diverse data sets from both internal and external sources to identify trends, measure project effectiveness and propose data-driven improvements.      
  • Assist in defining and documenting business requirements based on data insights to address operational challenges and refine processes.
  • Identify key performance metrics for new initiatives as well as existing processes. Define the correct reporting methods, channels, and formats for users.     
  • Serve as the voice of retail operations in cross-functional projects involving the design, configuration or deployment of diverse initiatives across all areas of the business: Category Management, HR, IT, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain and more.
  • Contribute to preliminary project cost estimations and ROI by gathering necessary data and collaborating with project leadership to support budgeting and tracking.      
  • Support projects through all aspects of the project lifecycle, beginning with project inception to transition to support or maintenance mode.         
  • Routinely update project documentation and proactively communicate any data-informed findings or potential risks to project leads in a timely manner.
  • Develop a working understanding of key operational processes and learn to manage shifting project scopes and deadlines.     
  • Support project lead in holding cross functional partners accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Provide foundational support in creating and executing test cases, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate software changes and process improvements.      
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Education Requirements
  • Bachelors' Degree preferably in Business, Information Technology or a related field preferred.

Years of Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in retail, business or finance preferred.
  • Software implementation, operational process improvement, and/or financial analysis experience is a plus.
  • Experience with data and statistic analysis required.
  • Experience with SQL preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite inclusive. High proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint preferred.

Physical Requirements
General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
  • Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports.
  • The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
