Job Summary The Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) Recovery Support Worker will focus on supporting the recovery efforts of parents of member referred to the CARA program pre- and post-partum.

They will be responsible for promoting a culture in which the voices representing people with mental health and substance use experiences and recovery become part of the institution.

They will promote a recovery-oriented system of care. Serving as a member advocate, they will provide support for staff and members during emergencies in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Finally, they will serve as a mentor/role model demonstrating competency in recovery, effective coping skills, and self-help strategies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Current NM Certified Peer Support Worker certification
  • Valid State's Driver's License.
  • Current or past consumer of mental health or co-occurring behavioral health services.
  • 2 years success within personal recovery model.
  • Ability to utilize individual and group skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Knowledge of local community behavioral health services.
