Essential Duties:

  • Provides hands-on quality leadership to direct reports and production teams, reinforcing company values, QMS policy, and quality expectations on the production floor.
  • Leads, coaches, motivates, and holds Quality Inspectors accountable for daily performance, workmanship, and procedural compliance.
  • Actively supports production operations to ensure quality requirements are met in real time and product conformance is maintained.
  • Maintains, supports, and continuously improves the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Plans, leads, executes, and documents internal audits; develops audit schedules and ensures all assigned processes are audited annually.
  • Manages audit findings by assigning corrective actions, verifying effectiveness, and ensuring timely closure of all audit-related actions.
  • Leads root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action efforts using structured problem-solving methodologies to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Supervises inspection and testing activities, ensuring accurate inspection plans, proper use of measurement equipment, and technical integrity of results.
  • Reviews non conformances, scrap, rework, and defect trends to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partners cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, customers, and external auditors to resolve quality issues and support customer satisfaction.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:

  • 5 years related Quality experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of  education and experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Experience in the use of inspection equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers and height gages.
  • Experience in First Article and First Piece inspection process.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, Quality Management System.
  • Knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Previous metrology experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Abilty to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels within the company.
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired.
