So, what will you be doing all day? You would join us as an Acoustical Designer working on things like...
- Conducts acoustic testing, analysis, and calculations with moderate amount of independence. Asks questions when performing unfamiliar tasks.
- Conducts interior noise and environmental noise analyses using computer modeling software, such as EASE, CadnaA, V-A Design, INSUL.
- Reviews architectural and engineering documents as related to acoustics and noise control design.
- Predicts room acoustics, sound transmission, impact isolation, environmental noise, transportation noise, mechanical noise, and vibration for a wide variety of project types.
- Coordinates with acoustics team to brainstorm solutions for each project. ·
- Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for projects.
- Coordinates with multiple disciplines and collaborates with project managers to help complete assigned tasks.
- Coordinates directly with clients and architectural design team to review construction drawings and observe existing conditions to identify potential acoustics issues.
- Participates in site visits and performs analyses for noise and vibration control and architectural concerns.
- Attends meetings with clients to better understand project needs.
- Assists in resolving conflicts involving owners, architects, and contractors when they arise.
- Documents the following information: acoustics, measurements, site observations, existing conditions, measurements/analysis, reviews of construction drawings, and detailed recommendations unique to each project.

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (i.e.: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of experience without degree required.
- Have at least 5+ years of Acoustical Design experience.
- Familiar with Revit.
- Have knowledge of, and/or have experience with AutoCAD, EASE, CadnaA, and/or other related design tools.
- Have clear oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoy working on a variety of projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications...
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience.
