HOK, a global architecture, design, engineering, and planning firm, is seeking a Design Technology Manager (DTM) to join our Advanced Technology Group. This is a hybrid position based in HOK's Kansas City office, with on-site presence required three days per week. As a Design Technology Manager, you'll play a critical role in advancing HOK's design initiatives and supporting the successful delivery of projects through technology, innovation, and process improvement. You will partner closely with project teams, BIM Coordinators, Design Technology Specialists, and firm leadership to implement BIM strategies, maintain technology standards, provide training, and ensure high-quality project outcomes. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration to help project teams work more efficiently and effectively while supporting HOK's commitment to design excellence. Key Responsibilities Include: Drive the successful implementation of HOK's Design Technology initiatives within the regional practice. Improve project delivery quality and efficiency through the strategic use of design technologies and BIM processes. Support project teams with BIM planning, project setup, technology configuration, and workflow optimization. Ensure consistent application of HOK technology standards while addressing regional project needs. Build technical capabilities across the practice through training, mentoring, and ongoing support. The essential responsibilities to achieve the goals listed above include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervise BIM Coordinators and/or Design Technology Specialists and provide direct project support. Provide proactive BIM implementation planning, project kickoffs, project setup, and technology configuration support. Conduct BIM-based quality control reviews and identify opportunities for improved project performance. Customize and maintain design technology standards as needed to support regional requirements while aligning with firmwide standards. Ensure project configurations, customizations, and workflows remain compliant with established standards and procedures. Deliver orientation, training, and continuing education on design software, standards, and processes. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Design Technology staff, the Advanced Technology Group, software vendors, and other resources. Stay current with design software advances, integrated practice methodologies, and emerging technology trends. Serve as a mentor and technical resource to project teams and regional staff. Foster a commitment to exceptional internal and external client service. Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. Support special initiatives and projects that advance HOK's technology and design delivery objectives. Who is the ideal candidate for this role? What is the required education & experience? A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, information technology, or a related discipline is required, along with at least eight years of progressive experience in BIM, 3D modeling, design technology, or related project delivery technologies. Prior experience leading BIM management initiatives and supporting project teams is preferred. LEED Accredited Professional or Green Associate credentials are preferred. What skills and qualifications will help you succeed? Advanced knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and best practices. Expertise with Revit is required. Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as Rhino and other similar tools. Experience configuring and supporting design software environments. Knowledge of remote computing environments and collaboration technologies is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of sustainability principles, integrated design, and LEED guidelines. Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support project teams in a fast-paced environment. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position is $100,000-$115,000 per year. #LI-BH1
