HOK, a global architecture, design, engineering, and planning firm, is seeking a Design Technology Manager to join our firmwide Advanced Technology Team. 

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking technology leader with deep experience in BIM and design technology, who is passionate about optimizing tools, processes, and standards that support architectural and engineering design. This person has a strong strategic mindset, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can influence firm-wide innovation while mentoring others. They are driven by quality, productivity, and continuous improvement—and they're excited to help shape how HOK delivers its projects through smart technology integration.

What will this person do?
This role is responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing evolution of design technologies across the firm. This includes—but is not limited to—configuring software deployment, developing and maintaining firm-wide standards and content libraries, creating training materials, and advising on best practices that enhance project quality and efficiency.

This individual will:

  • Establish a long-term vision and strategic goals for design and delivery technologies at HOK.
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedural guidelines for design software applications.
  • Ensure that teams are equipped to create design deliverables of the highest quality and technical integrity.
  • Create and maintain training content and support learning across the organization
  • Conduct periodic quality control audits of projects and support regional teams as needed.
  • Provide technology and process expertise to support firm-wide initiatives, including marketing and business development.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and future-focused tools.
  • Participate in and speak at industry events and professional associations.
  • Mentor and develop regional Design Technology staff and support recruitment and performance evaluations.
  • Lead or support special projects as assigned.
  • Champion sustainable work practices and foster a green workplace culture.

What skills and education are required?

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with BIM technology management and support, preferably within the AEC industry.
  • Prior experience in strategic planning and implementation of design technologies.
  • Project management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across disciplines and geographies.
  • LEED Accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
