Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.# The Vascular Center at HMC offers complete, leading-edge care from medical management, endovascular therapies, to open surgical options for arterial disease. In addition, we have an in-office vein center to treat many venous conditions in a pleasant outpatient setting. Our Vascular Center#is seeking a Physician Assistant#to be#responsible for various functions, including first assisting in the operating room, rounding, bedside procedures, consulting, and the ambulatory clinic.# Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist attending surgeons as a first assist during surgical procedures and provide patient care under physician supervision. Conduct and document pre-operative histories and physical assessments in compliance with Medical Center policies. Perform wound care procedures, including incision and drainage, debridement, and removal of drains or superficial foreign bodies. Assist with insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and epidurals as requested by physicians. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with PA guidelines, physician direction, and state/federal regulations. Support perioperative patient care, including patient transport, preparation, and positioning in the operating room. Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation to support billing, compliance, and reimbursement processes. Collaborate closely with supervising surgeons, attending physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, continuing education, and mandatory in-service training programs. Qualifications: Education:#Graduate of certified Physician Assistant Program Licenses/Registrations:#Current Physician Assistant Licensure in Massachusetts; Current NCCPA certification Experience:#Three years in a Professional Physician Assistant Role# Special Aptitudes # Activities:#Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively follow and deliver verbal and written instructions while serving as a liaison between patients and medical/nursing staff. Ability to build professional relationships and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative healthcare environment. Experience working effectively with culturally diverse adult and geriatric patient populations across a broad age spectrum.
