Position Overview:

The Operations Director is responsible for managing all aspects of a supply chain operation. The GM provides overall direction and oversight in the areas of performance, safety, P&L management, customer relations, continuous improvement, and associate development. 


This role requires a highly experienced, people-oriented leader who thrives in startup environments and is energized by building operations and teams from the ground up. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in high-volume fulfillment and fast-paced distribution environments and has a proven ability to motivate teams, develop leaders, and create a culture of accountability, ownership, and pride.

Commerce, GA (onsite)


Work Schedule:

Monday–Friday, Day Shift (flexibility required to support operational needs)

Competitive Compensation:

Attractive annual salary of $165,000-$185,000 plus a performance-based bonus


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the operations of distribution, packaging, and transportation to achieve company objectives and meet customer expectations.

  • Evaluate overall operations and develop short and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives, including startup ramp-up and rapid scaling.

  • Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging and transportation operations to ensure company and customer requirements are met with a strong focus on speed, accuracy, and on-time fulfillment.

  • Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing value, service and effectiveness, and profitability using data-driven metrics and lean methodologies.

  • Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment and property.

  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and government regulatory requirements.

  • Directly manage budget and P&L for operations.

  • Develop work plans ensuring appropriate staffing levels, managing labor costs, overtime and retention, including peak volume planning.

  • Maximize quality and productivity by understanding and mastering all job standards for each function, and evaluating performance variances in order to identify root cause, corrective action and training needs.

  • Participate in the collection of performance measurements per customer, vendor and/or site requirements, including KPIs such as throughput, service levels, order accuracy, and cycle time.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports.

  • Deliver a consistent, high-performance experience to our associates and customer.

  • Manage multiple customers / facilities.

  • Maintain a visible, floor-focused leadership presence to remove barriers, support teams, and drive real-time problem solving.

  • Build and sustain a culture of ownership, urgency, respect, and accountability while motivating and developing high-performing teams in a startup environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of management experience with comprehensive knowledge in high-volume, fast-paced 3PL, distribution, warehouse, and transportation environments.

  • Experience managing multiple sites.

  • Strong P&L management experience.

  • High-volume e-commerce fulfillment experience.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, warehouse management systems (WMS), and performance measurement tools.

  • Strong presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Experience with ADP platforms, including ADP Workforce Now, Workforce Manager, and Recruiting Management, is helpful.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze operational metrics and use insights to drive performance improvements
Preferred Qualification:
  • 3 years' experience in a 3PL environment.
