Description

Are you energized by solving complex operational challenges and designing smarter, more efficient warehouse solutions? In this role you will combine engineering, data analysis, customer engagement, and project management to support safe, scalable, and cost-effective operations across ID Logistics’ national network of large-scale distribution and contract packaging facilities. The position plays a key role in designing and redesigning warehouse solutions, evaluating productivity, and driving process improvements that enhance operational performance while supporting customer needs and business growth.


Location:  Hybrid on site in Joliet, IL, Elizabethtown, PA, Hanover Township, PA or Lockport, IL. We are only hiring for 1 role.
Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5:30pm with flexibility to work outside of normal business hours for any site level emergencies
Travel Specifics: Up to 25–50% depending on project needs across sites and subject to change based on business needs
Competitive Compensation: A competitive total rewards package including an attractive annual salary $100,000-$120,000, performance-based bonus, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education.

Key Responsibilities:


Safety & Compliance



  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report non-compliance when observed.

  • Observe all company safety rules and support enforcement and training as appropriate.


Process Improvement & Operational Support



  • Analyze existing warehousing and packaging processes; recommend and implement improvements to safety, quality, cost, and throughput.

  • Create workflow plans and implementation roadmaps in collaboration with operations leadership.

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track performance against KPIs using Excel, SQL, and BI tools.

  • Support analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across sites.


Analytics, Productivity & Pricing



  • Conduct time studies and related analyses to determine productivity standards and staffing requirements.

  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Partners with operations site leadership, finance and business development engineering teams to validate productivity baselines and then track savings against the baseline as changes to process, systems or equipment are implemented.


Network & Facility Design



  • Design and update warehouse layouts for new and existing facilities using AutoCAD.

  • Propose automated warehousing and storage solutions to improve throughput and reduce labor requirements.

  • Analyze storage strategies, slotting, and zoning to optimize material flow and space utilization.


Stakeholder & Vendor Management



  • Partner with operations management, engineering, and customers to gather requirements and deliver engineered solutions.

  • Select and work with external vendors on material handling and capital projects from concept through implementation.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • 4+ years of industrial engineering experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) or production management systems.
  • Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in a 3PL warehouse or distribution center environment is strongly preferred.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar tools for facility layout and space planning.
  • Knowledge of secondary packaging operations.
