We are seeking a technical professional with a strong business focus to join our growing International Government & Space group. You will be responsible for developing solutions for new opportunities across commercial and government markets, often using both an analytical and creative approach. You will assess, architect, and support the development and execution of products and services that range from the provision of Consulting support, Launch and Satellite Operations, Ground services and Hosted Payload ventures. Working closely with Sales, Business Development and Product team members, the Solutions Architect will contribute to the creation and design of new business opportunities and ensure that timely, compliant, and effective proposal responses are submitted and result in order generation.
As a key contributor, you are vital to ensuring the pursuit, solution design and successful capture of technically complex space communications opportunities. This position requires the technical astuteness to analyze RFPs quickly, identify pivotal technical elements and work with cross-functional teams and partners to craft winning solutions. You will lead End-to-End solution design efforts, which includes architecting key elements of the solution, evaluating technical options and leading cross-functional teams towards a final solution, while keeping all the company's key stakeholders apprised, as the opportunity proceeds through the capture/proposal gates. You bring a solutions-oriented perspective, with the agility and insight to explore and evaluate multiple technical solutions options. In collaboration with Sales, Business Development and Technical teams, this role ensures continuous progress towards a compelling written proposal.
Are you up to the challenge?
- Lead technical engineering expert on targeted opportunities, from capture through proposal and to final submission.
- Work with all levels of the customer organization to help the sales team identify the customer's needs and technical and financial drivers.
- Identify and provide guidance on the key solution elements and technical implications of RFP/RFIs.
- Identify internal and external resources required for the success of the proposal effort. Act as a liaison with Intelsat technical teams, namely Space Systems, Network Engineering and others, to design solutions in support of the proposal process.
- Conduct market research and competitive intelligence studies, including business case development.
- Lead technical proposal writing and review meetings: Develop technical writing and editing with compelling narrative, to influence technical/management response.
- Use the knowledge gained by working directly with customers to provide market intelligence to the Product Management and Product Development teams, helping to guide product evolution and new product developments.
- Maintain current knowledge of space communications technology developments that enable the provision of more cost effective and efficient customer solutions.
You should definitely have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent.
- At least five years of experience writing and editing technically complex proposals in response to RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, required.
- Multi-orbit Satellite Communications knowledge, with emphasis on LEO Constellations Use Cases.
- Hosted Payloads experience.
- Ability to analyze technical documentation and create written materials that clearly communicate technical and business concepts to decision makers. Effective English language skills, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of the sales/buying processes and demonstrated ability to engage and develop trusting relationships with customers and partners, at all levels, and internally with Sales Directors.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team environment, while simultaneously handling multiple complex projects with demanding schedules.
- Experience in satellite systems, spacecraft operations, or launch services.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 30% to meet the needs of the business.

- Experience working across complex satellite programs.
- Optical communications system capabilities and limitations.
- An Advanced Business degree (i.e. MBA).
- Fluency in language(s) other than English.
