Your impact: 

Working as part of a team, you will develop high-end electrical installation designs that integrate connectivity into commercial and business aircraft.

What you will do:

  • Create detailed electrical designs for aircraft equipment installations and alterations (antennas, avionics equipment, interior components).
  • Prepare and/or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company and regulatory requirements. Resolve electrical manufacturing and installation problems.
  • Actively participate in internal and external program & design review meetings.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of aircraft electrical systems when interfacing with customers, suppliers, and civil aviation regulatory organizations.
  • Mentor, support, and guide other team members as needed
  • Formulate, implement and track engineering programs for assigned projects to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules, contracts, specifications or for problems encountered in the design, development and installation stages of engineering programs.
  • Participate in the development of departmental standards and processes. 
  • Develop design-certification documents, such as Wire Routing Assessment, System Safety Assessment, Electrical Load Analysis, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, EWIS Assessment, Technical Publication Manuals
  • Provide guidance to product development teams as it relates to regulatory and industry standards

 Your required experience/skills 

  • 4-year Electrical Engineering degree or similar engineering discipline. 
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with electrical systems design documentation and related Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) development processes
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and equivalent foreign regulations
  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively address issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other project and engineering related software programs such as AutoCad

Your success in this role will look like:

  • You will be the go-to contact in the aircraft engineering group for all aircraft electrical integration designs and kits
  • Successful deployment of Intelsat connectivity systems to customer aircraft
  • Deliver products on-time, withing budget and in compliance with customer expectations

It would be nice if you had:

  • Specific experience with Electrical Wiring Integration Systems (EWIS) development
  • Understanding of AC43-13
  • Development of aircraft ELAs & System Safety Assessments
  • Familiarization with Aircraft Manual Chapter 20 Standard Practices, especially wiring practices

  • WASHINGTON STATE EXEMPT Pay Rate: The annual salary for this position is $104,100 to $162,976. The annual bonus target for this position is number (10) percent. In determining compensation, Intelsat considers factors including position scope and responsibilities, candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, internal peer equity, as well as others when extending an offer.
