Your impact 

You will have the opportunity to be a leader on our Network and Security Operations team for Intelsat.  This individual will lead a team responsible for the design and implementation of Intelsat's growing datacenter and network presence around the world.  As a Senior Manager at Intelsat, you will lead projects and interact as well as assist on many team projects that will challenge your skills with routing, switching, data security, VoIP, and multi-media services.  This position will work with and manage many vendor relationships, as well as having a voice during the purchase/quote process, as Intelsat's business continues to expand. You will provide Network and Information Security support and analysis, including Network device lifecycle, incident analysis and response, log analysis, threat and vulnerability management, and network and security architecture and design.

 

What you will do 

  • Join a dedicated IT Network Operations team that is tasked with implementing new and exciting technologies that drive our business efficiencies and support our employees and customer revenue stream
  • Lead and mentor a skill team of engineers that support and deploy network and security technologies, hardware and software.
  • Drive consistency and provide coaching within the engineering process
  • Understand emerging technologies and determine appropriated use within the enterprise and how those best apply to the overall organizational strategy
  • Work with other technology and product leaders within the organization to create network and security infrastructure for their project initiatives.
  • Formulate architecture for these in adherence to Intelsat's network security infrastructure, policies, and standards

 Your required experience/skills

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 4-year college degree
  • 3 - 5 years people manager experience
  • In-depth knowledge on Network and Security architecture, protocols, standards, and compliance requirement
  • Demonstrable experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper or Palo Alto platforms and good understanding of respective best practice architectures and design principles
  • Familiarity with enterprise security tools relating to end point protection, email, web and DNS security. 
  • Military experience along with 5-7 years' experience in related job field will be considered in lieu of college degree

  • Provide network and security operational leadership to an Enterprise community with a presence around the world, and manage the associated infrastructure relating to network, and security tools.
  • Be a creative thinking team player, with openness, embracing diverse thinking and styles, with a positive attitude.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

It would be nice if you had: 

 

  • Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Multiple network, security, and project management related certifications
  • Expert level understanding of converged network designs that include QoS and WAN optimization
  • Experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIPv2, MPLS, PBR, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP) 
  • Ability to define the conceptual and execute within a real world business environment
  • Proficient influencing others and build consensus using good written, verbal communication skills with internal and external customers
  • Experience in managing geographically dispersed teams.
