(REMOTE) Part-Time Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager

Intertek is searching for a Part-Time Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager to join our Asset Integrity Management (AIM) team to support our Santa Clara, California office.  Intertek Engineering and Software group provides Asset Integrity Management and Life Management support to infrastructure, facilities and equipment through the conception, design, construction, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases.  

How you'll make an impact at Intertek:

  • Provides a range of quality activities to support the company's Nuclear Quality Assurance program, which fulfills 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21 and other NRC regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures quality system, process, and procedures are effective and efficient to meet current business requirements for clients.
  • Contributes to the continuous maintenance and improvement of our quality/business management system, including the development, review, and approval of QA procedures, records, and processes.
  • Manages the company's quality assurance program; trains, plans, coordinates, and assigns personnel to perform defined QA program roles, including formal internal and external (suppliers, vendors) audits to assure compliance with the Nuclear QA program, customer requirements, and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Leads internal audits and related assurance activities.
  • Manages corrective action program and facilitates root cause analysis activities.
  • Identifies non-compliance, shares best practices, and develops effective corrective action / improvement plans.
  • Monitors progress of all offices and business units in implementing their plans.
  • Reports regularly to the Managing Director to provide QA program status and effectiveness.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
  • Experience as a quality manager for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or an engineering organization performing nuclear safety-related design and/or analyses is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21.
  • Ability to lead through influencing others
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
