Intertek is searching for an Operations Coordinator to join our Caleb Brett team in our Arnold's Cove, Newfoundland office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Inspection and the Petroleum Industry!

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for performing the necessary volume measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting which ensure that the customer receives an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of quantity and quality of material. As well assisting the Branch Manager with client and operational based roles as required.

  • The Operations Coordinator/Petroleum Inspector is responsible for Visual observation, Volume Measurement, Temperature Measurement and Sampling of Crude Oil, Aviation Fuel, Diesel Fuel, Gasoline and other cargoes in vessels, barges and shore storage tanks.
  • Loading, discharging, and Lightering Operations.
  • Creating and issuing Job orders and final inspection reports to clients as well as nomination acceptance and other client associated tasks as required.
  • Maintaining standards and procedures throughout multiple locations, being ready for work and performing the job under expectations while complying with safety standards.
  • Creating and completing Client reports as well as communicating with clients with regular job updates.
  • Lab responsibilities such as Crude Oil Analysis, SQC review, PT completion/Reporting & Lab Purchasing.
  • Carrying out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with total adherence to: The Company's Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures, Quality Management System, Compliance and Ethics Policies, Vision, Mission and Strategy, and exercises good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.

    What it takes to be successful in this role:
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Previous Knowledge and Experience required.•Understanding of Basic Mathematics.
  • Having a positive attitude and a high tolerance for long hours.
  • Being able to work with and communicate with diverse personalities.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a Valid Driver's license.
  • Working at heights and under adverse weather conditions
  • Relevant experience an asset but not required.
  • Being able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Working in adverse weather conditions including ice, snow, wind rain and low light.
  • Good eyesight for small print.
  • Able to work alone or with others.
