Quality Manager/Radiography Level III - Houma, LA

 

Intertek is searching for a Quality Manager/Radiography Level III  to join our Asset Integrity Management (AIM) team working at our offices located in either Houston/Clear Lake, Texas or Houma, Louisiana.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Quality Assurance & Radiography within Industry Services!

 

  • The responsibilities of the Quality Manager/NDT Level III include:

Maintaining a Written Practice for the Qualification and Certification of NDT personnel that establishes that NDT personnel have the proper training, work experience, prior certifications, etc., and once this is established that the individual is issued examinations as prescribed in the written practice and passes examinations prior to being issued a certification. This includes Vision Acuity Examinations.

What you'll do:

  • Establish that NDT Procedures are written as required by code and revised as new publications of codes and/or standards are published.
  • Performing billable NDT Level III duties such as NDT training, auditing, etc. for external clients.
  • Performing NDT personnel audits periodically and performing audits at a client's request. This also may include Radiation Safety and HSE audits.
  • Providing Support to Corporate QA managers for QA and ISO requirements, by keeping documentation records as required by ISO and managing the systems.

SUPERVISION

  • Corporation Radiation Safety Officer reports to General Manager and operates under the guidance of the Regional Safety Manager with the purview of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Radiation Safety Officer functionally reports to the respective Branch Manager and administratively reports to the Corporation Radiation Safety Officer and operates under the purview of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Perform the following of Audits
  • Internal Compliance Audit – (by RSO)
  • Radiographer Field Audits – (by RSO)
  • Manage external audits – by State Regulatory Agency's – (by CRSO & RSO as applicable)
  • Vault Alarm System – (by RSO)
  • Offshore Darkroom Alarm Systems - (by RSO)
  • Mobile darkroom Alarm Systems- (by RSO)
  • Trustworthy & Reliable List Verification of personnel
  • Perform the annual NSTS inventory reconciliation and manage all the sources above 22 curies in the National Source Tracking System (NSTS) 

QUALITY SYSTEM

  • Co-operate in all matters relating to the proper functioning of the Company Quality System i.e. Internal Reviews, Audits etc. and to report, in a timely manner, any errors or omissions found in the Company issued documentation (assignments, work instructions, specifications / standards, etc.) or knowledge of customer dissatisfaction.

Veriforce OQ Evaluator

  • Evaluate employees for DOT OQ requirements by client requirements per TQ that the evaluator is eligible to perform evaluates on employees  in the TQ.

   This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.  
 

What it takes to be successful in this role:  

  • Minimum a high school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency based on the GED test
  • Being a qualified radiographer, 
  • Have a minimum of 2,000 hours (one-year full-time field experience) of hands-on experience as a qualified radiographer, and this includes taking radiographs, surveying devices and radiation areas, transporting the radiography equipment to temporary job sites, posting, work sites, radiation-area surveillance, completing and maintaining records etc.
  • Have formal training in establishing and maintaining an active radiation protection program. 

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Working knowledge of management system
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet functions.   An intermediate or advanced understanding of the Microsoft suite of software programs (word, excel, outlook and power point).
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the group.
  • Good knowledge of the English language written and verbal
