PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- To provide biosecurity monitoring and training to independent contract crews that provide services to Iowa Select Farms. These services include loading of pigs, facility washing, and vaccinations. It will be the monitor's responsibility to ensure services are completed to Iowa Select Farms' standards and in adherence to ISF production well-being policies. To audit biosecurity processes and improve communication by sharing this information between contractors, site managers, their supervisors, and the Crew Services Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to and enforce ISF animal wellbeing policy at all times and partnering with Production Well-being team when incident occurs.
- Adhere to and enforce ISF biosecurity policy at all times and fixing any known violations
- Adhere to and enforce ISF safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) for appropriate tasks and work in a safe manner.
- Monitor the biosecurity compliance of market load-out crews and undouble-stock crews. Compile results of load-out crew performance for use in crew bonus determination.
- Monitor the biosecurity compliance of vaccination crews.
- Alert supervisor to any past or foreseeable future problem.
- Meet regularly with the Crew Services Supervisor and other leadership to develop strategies designed to improve overall performance of crews.
- Participation in crew-leader meetings to help communicate biosecurity expectations and training.
- Organizational skills and time management are critical. This position requires management of one's own schedule to complete all required assessments.
- Close communication with the Director of Market Transportation is also required. At times you may help assess animal handling, load-out technique, vaccination technique, and communicate on appropriate timeliness and attendance of crew members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed indoors and outdoors.
- This position may require some tasks to be performed in extreme outside weather conditions.
- The environment of this position will change daily pending weekly schedule.
- This position will have duties in all facilities of Iowa Select Farms so employees will need to be comfortable working in and being exposed to all facility environments.
- The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
- The environment you will be working in may have nuisance levels of gases and dust, particularly in the winter months.
PHYSICALITY REQUIREMENTS
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds along with climbing up ladders and over gates.
- The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week.
- Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges.
- Evening hours and weekend work will be required
- Flexibility in hours is required
TRAVEL
- Local travel will be required for this position through the utilization of a company vehicle.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual: Required
- Previous supervisory experience in logistics or swine production operations is desired.
- Must have a valid driver's license and pass MVR
