Job Summary

Provides school administration leaders administrative support with planning and organizing school initiatives and programs through the direction and supervision of the clerical support team.  Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with other school leaders.

Essential Responsibilities

School Leadership

  • Assists school leaders with the day to day operations of the school campus (elementary, middle and/or high school).  Works to understand school concerns and assists school staff in identifying and solving operational concerns.
  • Assists school leaders in identifying key personnel and forms problem solving task force to address important school issues and concerns.  Works with staff to identify and plan for school problem solving.
  • Schedules meetings with identified individuals and compiles and processes meeting data (which may include formulating graphs, composing documents, websites, etc.) which can be utilized to analyze and evaluate school concerns and issues.

Administrative Services

  • Provides a range of administrative support functions which may include but are not limited to: maintaining payroll records, processing staff development activities, teacher evaluation and travel.
  • Composes and keeps secure confidential school documents, reports and correspondence. 
  • May assist with the planning, preparing and updating of the school's webpage as well as annual or weekly calendars.

Office Management

  • May supervise other office support staff to include but not be limited to the evaluation of performance and recommendation for selection and/or discipline; on-boarding and training (and retraining); coordinating office clerical staff activities and setting priorities; providing coaching and guidance; and working with school leadership to ensure timely and efficient task completion.
  • Utilizes policies, procedures and business plan, and applies discretion and independent judgment based on facts and circumstances of situation to guide decision making and problem solving. 
  • May be responsible for project management and coordination of strategic initiatives and events for K-12.
  • Leads and/or assists with graphic design and communication for campus/K-12 reporting.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed.

  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with school leaders, faculty, staff, parents and students
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Ability to accomplish work with constant interruptions
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications (word processing, database, presentation, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.

68,800.00 - 94,300.00 Annual
