Our Director, Corporate Strategy is accountable for building a dynamic, continuous strategy function that brings external perspective and analytical rigor to Kelly. Leveraging a consulting background, the Director brings structured problem-solving, analytical frameworks, and fresh perspectives while partnering with leadership to strengthen institutional strategic capability.

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, this role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution—developing deep knowledge of industry dynamics, competitive trends, and market positioning, and partnering with business units to advance strategic thinking while constructively challenging the status quo.

  Responsibilities:

 

Corporate Strategy

 

  • Develop and maintain a continuous, outside-in understanding of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and market shifts, translating insights into clear strategic implications and capability enhancements for the enterprise
  • Design analytical frameworks to evaluate corporate and business unit strategy, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable KPIs
  • Partner with business unit leaders to refine strategy through structured analysis and constructive challenge
  • Collaborate with VP to develop recommendations and prepare executive-level materials for senior leadership
  • Build business cases to assess strategic options and support decision-making, working cross-functionally to validate assumptions, synthesize insights, and advance clear strategic narratives
  • Evaluate growth opportunities, including organic initiatives and partnerships
  • Support and develop analytics resources to enhance strategic analysis and competitive intelligence

 

M&A Due Diligence and Analysis

 

  • Support M&A evaluations through commercial, financial, and operational due diligence
  • Develop business cases and financial models to assess deal economics, synergies, and returns
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to evaluate strategic fit
  • Prepare executive and investment committee materials
  • Support post-merger integration planning and performance tracking
  • Assess alternative transaction structures, including joint ventures and strategic investments
  Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences:

 

  • Minimum 10 years of strategy experience, preferably from management consulting; corporate strategy experience in staffing or business services preferred
  • Strong strategic thinker with an external, market-informed perspective and understanding of competitive dynamics
  • Proven ability to structure complex business problems and develop rigorous, data-driven analyses that inform leadership decisions
  • Advanced financial modeling and quantitative skills; able to synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Effective business partner who collaborates with leadership while providing thoughtful challenge
  • Self-directed with sound judgment; detail-oriented and committed to producing executive-ready deliverables
  • Execution-focused, translating analysis into pragmatic, implementable strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting M&A initiatives, including due diligence
  • Exposure to buy-side and sell-side M&A processes preferred

 

Base pay range for this position is $160,100 - $200,125 per year.  Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
