What's a typical day as Assistant Controller? You'll be:

• Providing management, leadership, and direction for the accounting staff, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller
• Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR/cash processes
• Developing, documenting, and implementing standard operating procedures
• Maintaining accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
• Leading the quarterly close process, including review of entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
• Preparing financial schedules for audits, reviews, and tax filings
• Identifying and implementing efficiency and productivity improvements
• Covering responsibilities of other assistant controllers as needed

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Hold a B.A. or B.S. in business, finance, or accounting (CPA preferred)
• Have 10+ years of accounting experience, with leadership responsibilities
• Possess thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls
• Demonstrate experience with the financial closing process and financial statement preparation
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Have advanced Excel skills (Great Plains experience is a plus)
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and communicate effectively across departments
