  • Pay Rate: $18.61/hr
  • Location: Phoenix AZ 85007
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Employment Type: 2-months Contract
What's a typical day as a Benefits and Eligibility Specialist? You will:
  • Review applications for a variety of public assistance programs and ensure completeness and accuracy of submitted forms.
  • Conduct interactive interviews and thorough fact gathering to determine the eligibility of applicants and recipients.
  • Verify the accuracy of information provided by applicants using internal and external sources.
  • Follow up with applicants to obtain missing or additional information as needed.
  • Document case notes and maintain accurate records throughout the application and eligibility determination process.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and verifying documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing applicants.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience working with online forms and databases.
  • Willingness and ability to complete a 7-week in-person training.
Education Requirement:
  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Details:
  • Previous experience in social services, public assistance, or eligibility determination roles.
  • Bilingual skills (especially in high-demand languages, such as Spanish).
  • Familiarity with local, state, or federal public assistance programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive or confidential information professionally.
  • Interest in transitioning to a full-time permanent position after the training period.
