Description

Join a fast moving logistics team that keeps freight flowing and delivery networks running smoothly as a Centralized Transportation Dispatcher! We're looking for someone dependable, sharp, and ready to take ownership in a role where every decision impacts on time performance and customer satisfaction. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, coordinating moving parts, and building strong communication lines with carriers and internal teams.
 
Contract Length: 6 months, with strong potential for extension
Pay: $21.50/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours
• Standard shifts: 7am–4pm or 8am–5pm
• Work from home Fridays available after training and trust building
Location: Austin, MN
 
What You'll Do
• Act as the key liaison between enterprise operations and motor carrier partners
• Coordinate freight plans based on ship locations and order details
• Review shipment data, quantities, weights, dates, destinations, and identify efficiency opportunities through a transportation management system
• Source carriers based on cost, reliability, equipment, and performance history
• Troubleshoot delivery challenges to keep freight on schedule and customers supported
• Handle inbound/outbound scheduling with shippers and receivers when needed
• Take on occasional overtime and weekend rotation
• Support miscellaneous projects assigned by Centralized Transportation management
 
What We're Looking For
 
Required:
• Strong dependability and consistency, as this role supports time sensitive customer operations
• Clear, confident communication (both written and verbal)
• Solid Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks with high accuracy
 
Preferred:
• Experience with Blue Yonder TMS (or other transportation management systems)
• Dispatch or motor carrier coordination experience
• Familiarity with order processing systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to learn proprietary software
• Exposure to mainframe or warehouse management systems
