Description

Job Title: CNC Machine Operators (2nd Shift)

$23-25 base, flexible), with a 10% shift differential on 2nd shift.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC Lathe machines.
  • Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, GD&T, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Measure parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, as well as depth and angle of cut.
  • Utilize the latest technology in machining processes.
  • Understand safety requirements and emergency procedures.
  • Comprehend basic properties and reactions of chemicals within the work area.
  • Handle and process hazardous waste as required within the work area.
  • Complete hazardous waste training as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years of machining experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform set-ups; machine programming experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with all measuring instruments of the trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Good reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to follow all safety and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to create and modify procedures.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Steel-toed shoes required.

Additional Information:

  • We are open to and honestly prefer entry-level machinists who are currently in trade school, willing to attend on Solera's dime, or recent graduates. This role is a perfect fit for such machinists.
  • Please note that approximately 95% of the work will involve CNC Lathe operations. This will be more apparent during the interview and plant tour phase.
  • For experienced CNC Lathe machinists, we can be flexible on pay for the right candidate.
