Position: Concrete Assembly Welder – 2nd Shift
4:30pm-3:00am
Location: Duffield, VA
Overview:
As a Concrete Assembly Welder, you'll read blueprints, maintain a safe and organized workspace, and handle welding and assembly tasks while supporting quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate assembly.
- Keep work area clean and organized throughout your shift.
- Safely assemble concrete building components, including hooking crane extensions, positioning floors, applying grout and weatherproofing materials, and installing walls and roof.
- Clean, chip, and weld roof plates; remove assembly jacks as needed.
- Collaborate with Quality Control Technicians for building inspections.
- Sweep and maintain building interiors; move completed buildings to Patch/Paint Department.
- Complete daily cleanup at the end of each shift.
- Serve as a direct contact for the Concrete Supervisor regarding daily tasks in the assembly/welding area.
- Maintain current welder certification and provide welding guidance to other team members.
- Train new hires and cross-train existing employees on VFP procedures when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of welding experience preferred.
- Welding certification preferred (not required).
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Competent in reading blueprints and using a tape measure.
- Proficient with electric welding equipment and crane operation.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
