Overview:
This pharmaceutical company is dedicated to improving lives by developing affordable generic and over-the-counter medications.

In this role, you will oversee all DEA compliance activities, manage regulatory reporting, ensure adherence to federal and state-controlled substance regulations across multiple sites, lead audits and inspections, and support the training and development of compliance personnel.

Schedule: 
Monday-Friday, standard working hours
 
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain DEA federal and state-controlled substance compliance across multiple sites in accordance with Title 21 CFR and all applicable regulations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the DEA, state agencies (such as SC-DPH), and other regulatory bodies on compliance matters.
  • Develop, review, and revise procedures to ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and accountability for controlled substances, minimizing risk of diversion.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to the DEA, including ARCOS, CSOS, YERS, and Quota Procurement Requests.
  • Coordinate and supervise controlled substance inventory audits (annual, biennial, year-end) and ensure reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, in-transit losses, and suspicious orders to appropriate authorities as necessary.
  • Ensure all facilities and storage locations for controlled substances are compliant with current DEA and state regulations.
  • Lead and participate in DEA and FDA regulatory inspections, customer audits, and coordinate controlled substance destruction processes.
  • Conduct internal and external DEA compliance reviews for new acquisitions and support staff training, professional development, and performance reviews.
  • Manage the DEA Compliance department, maintain the departmental budget, and perform additional duties as required to support ongoing compliance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field required.
  • 10+ years of DEA experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
