Job Title: Development Coordinator
Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Location: Ridgeland, MS 39157
Pay rate: $20 - $22hr
Hire Type: 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire
Position Summary:
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a dynamic development team by assisting with event material production, email campaigns, and executing Alzheimer's Association events, including Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, and Relationship events.
Responsibilities:
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the Development lead and Event Managers to create, review, and finalize event materials.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for communications projects, including updating web pages.
- Input confidential charitable gift information, process gift acknowledgments, prepare reports, and ensure data accuracy.
- Organize and maintain event materials inventory, support ordering, and track deliveries and event signage.
- Conduct phone outreach to past participants and donors.
- Handle office mail, process donor mail, and provide general office support.
- Assist with direct mail campaigns, bulk mailings, special events, donor cultivation, planned giving, and recognition activities.
- Engage with prospective donors and volunteers, providing information on development programs, and accepting donations.
- Supervise and train assigned volunteers.
- Prospect, cultivate, and steward teams, sponsors, and volunteers for Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, and Relationship events to achieve fundraising goals.
- Support volunteer planning committees with recruitment, meeting preparation, logistics, marketing, and retention for event success.
- Research potential prospects and networking opportunities to grow event pipelines.
- Work with volunteer planning committees to organize outreach activities promoting the Alzheimer's Association's mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Maintain an organizational climate that motivates and retains high-quality staff and volunteers.
- Ensure that all event standards for Walk to End Alzheimer's, The Longest Day, and Relationship events are followed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Key Educational/Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least one year of office administrative experience required.
- Effective written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and business correspondence.
- Strong oral communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) is helpful.
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy with details and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Professional demeanor in person and via telephone with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Punctual and dependable, with an appreciation for the impact of effective teamwork.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
- Deadline-driven with excellent planning and time management strategies.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
