Kelly is partnering with Johnson & Johnson to find a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and scientifically driven Intern / Co-Op – Translational Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to join the Translational Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Investigational Toxicology (TPPIT) team in Spring House, PA.

Duration: 10–12 Weeks (Summer 2026)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation:

  • Sophomore: $25.00/hour
  • Junior: $26.00/hour
  • Senior: $28.00/hour

About the Role
The Translational Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Intern will join the Translational Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Investigational Toxicology (TPPIT) department, a critical part of the Preclinical Sciences and Translational Safety organization within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.
This internship provides hands-on research experience and exposure to DMPK in the pharmaceutical industry. The selected candidate will work in a collaborative lab environment, closely partnering with a team of four scientists and directly supporting the hiring manager.
This is a fully onsite, lab-based internship located in Spring House, PA. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute in vitro assays with small molecules using hepatocytes, sub-cellular fractions, or recombinant enzymes
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarize key scientific findings to inform assay strategies
  • Perform analytical LC-MS/MS method development, bioanalysis, and troubleshooting
  • Analyze experimental data and present scientific findings to the team
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks
  • Follow lab safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, gloves)

Qualifications
General Eligibility
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related life science field at an accredited college or university
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10–12 weeks
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work fully onsite in Spring House, PA
Required Skills & Experience
  • Previous hands-on laboratory experience
  • Strong background in biology and chemistry
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of enzyme kinetics and/or mass spectrometry
  • Experience handling cells or sub-cellular fractions

This is a unique opportunity for a sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related life science field to gain meaningful industry experience in DMPK through assay design, LC-MS/MS bioanalysis, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration.
