 EDI Business Analyst


Location: Seattle, WA (During Covid-19 - Remote role)

The EDI Business Analyst is responsible for serving as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization. They collect, analyze, develop, document, communicate business requirements, and support user testing.

EDI Business Analyst will interface directly with the internal business units as well as external EDI customers to establish the specifications for interchange activity.

EDI Business Analyst will have good working knowledge of the supply chain/distribution and be able to confidently talk about EDI capabilities


Job responsibilities include:

30% Analysis: providing daily support to internal and external customers, gathering EDI functional requirements, writing requirements, and testing changes. Investigates problems and identifies need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution.

45% Mapping and troubleshooting: supports the process for customer setup, management, and EDI error-reporting used by the Customer Service (CS) Team, ensuring proper invoicing & data transmission.

25% Communication: Develops, writes, and communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of business solutions. Keeps customers informed of problems, issues, and resolutions. Communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of business solutions. Presenting findings to internal customers. Negotiate possible setup/business solutions with Trading Partners.



  • Typically requires 2-5 years of relevant technical or business work experience. Requires experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills: data analysis, pivot, v-lookups.
  • Experience in EDI Analysis and troubleshooting.
  • EDI knowledge and the ability to communicate in EDI terminology with internal customers, external customers and suppliers.
  • Any ERP system experience. JDE and SAP strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of the areas: Supply Chain, Warehouse, Purchasing, Logistics/Distribution, Retail, Manufacturing in Food or Pharma/Biotech industries
  • Good time-management and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
