Position Details
- Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (OT is Mandatory)
- Location: Chino, CA 91708
- Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
- Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Overview
Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment—including sit-down and clamp forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role may also involve order filler or order checker duties, with a consistent focus on safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, sit-down clamp trucks, and push-pull equipment to stack and store merchandise in designated areas.
- Safely unload inbound shipments and transport products to storage locations.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment per customer specifications.
- Ensure correct quantities and types of products are loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties efficiently while maintaining customer service standards.
- Move products from staging or storage areas into trailers.
- Operate all equipment following prescribed safety protocols and work methods.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.
- Assist with physical inventories and proper stock rotation.
- Conduct cycle counts as required.
- Utilize RF scanning equipment for inventory accuracy.
- Complete equipment inspection forms prior to operation.
- Report safety concerns promptly to management.
- Report inventory discrepancies and assist the inventory control team with resolution.
- Demonstrate basic understanding of safety in equipment operation.
- Use general computer skills and have proficiency in Excel.
Mandatory Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of recent forklift experience.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10–12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs without restriction.
- Frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above and below waist level.
- Capable of walking in large facilities (over a quarter mile in length).
- Comfortable working in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variations; able to access all areas of the building.
- Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to obtain Forklift certification.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and basic math abilities.
