JOB SUMMARY: 1st shift Mon-Thurs 6AM - 4:30PM
The General Fabricator completes required assembly activities for metal parts while consistently maintaining product quality and safe work practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate various small machines: PEM Insertion Machine, Spot Welder, Metal Roller, tDrill Press/ Tap/ Countersink, Belt Grinders
- Operate and use various hand and power tools to assemble products
- Utilize various pneumatic and electric grinders for deburring and weld blending
- Meet and maintain daily production rates and goals as established and required by company.
- Read and follow standard work instructions.
- Measures work, using rule, gauges, calipers and templates
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and customer documentations.
- Keep supervisory staff informed of all activity including but not limited to information related to quality, parts supply and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibility.
- Complete all required activities and documentation for assigned work as requested by supervisor.
- Adhere to safety procedures at all times.
- Keep workstation clean, orderly and free of safety hazards at all times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis. Stand for the entire shift, bend, squat, twist and turn.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee in this role will be working indoors, in an industrial manufacturing environment. The employee will regularly be exposed to noise levels requiring hearing protection, moving equipment and mechanical parts. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- Previous experience of 2 years or more in hands on manufacturing with metal fabrication or woodworking.
- Mechanically inclined
- General shop math skills
- Ability to understand and follow standard work instructions.
- Familiarity with blueprints and technical drawings
- Licensures and Certifications: None
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
