Job Title: Industrial Electrician III – Machining Skilled Trades
Location: Jamestown, NY (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Pay Rate: Approx. $38.70/hr + $2.29 shift premium ($39.99/hr total)
Hours: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, subject to change per business needs)

As an Industrial Electrician III, you will troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems to maximize equipment uptime and reliability in a manufacturing environment. You'll work both independently and as a mentor, applying your advanced trade skills across automation, robotics, PLCs, and control systems. Safety, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement are foundational to your success. Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment including automation, robotics, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), CNC machines, and servo drives.
  • Assemble, install, and test electrical systems, adhering to all safety protocols and energy management procedures.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities; provide feedback for system improvements and support uptime and downtime analysis.
  • Read, interpret, and utilize technical documentation, schematics, manuals, and blueprints for effective problem-solving.
  • Participate and contribute to continuous improvement and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with HSE standards; immediately stop work and report hazards or injuries.
  • Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to apprentices and less experienced team members.
  • Support production by working overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Uphold environmental stewardship and minimize negative impacts from maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in the facility to drive operational efficiency.
  • Promote and foster an inclusive, safe, and teamwork-oriented workplace.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree or higher preferred.
  • Significant relevant trade experience required:
    • At least 7 years in industrial electrical roles, OR
    • Journeyman Trade Certificate with relevant experience, OR
    • 2-year technical degree in a related field + 3 years' experience in industrial electrical/machine repair.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, especially in complex electrical systems, automation, and controls.
  • Knowledge and understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), Industrial Electrical Code (IEC), and 70E safety authorization/certification.
  • Advanced skills in PLC, HMI interfaces, servo drives, CNC equipment, automation, and robotic controls.
  • Relevant experience may include:
    • Controls Engineering
    • Industrial Automation
    • Robotics
    • Residential or Commercial Electrical
    • Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance
    • Welding/Fabrication
    • Machining
    • Maintenance of agricultural or farm equipment
  • Ability to deliver training and technical guidance to team members and apprentices.
  • Readiness to work overtime/weekends as needed.
