Description

Inventory Control Clerk

Location: Streator, IL 61364
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Payrate: $20/hour

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through detailed analysis, physical counts, and discrepancy investigation. This role operates in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment and requires strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to support operational accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond to inventory-related emails and requests

  • Review and validate date codes and lot/lock codes

  • Research and resolve inventory variances, including PO discrepancies and aisle audits

  • Perform physical inventory counts and cycle counts as required

  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and document findings

  • Communicate issues and corrective actions to internal teams

  • Correct operational or system errors to ensure inventory accuracy

  • Maintain accurate records using inventory management systems and Excel

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Onsite warehouse/distribution environment

  • Intermittent lifting of up to 80 lbs required

  • Steel-toe shoes required (additional PPE provided by USF)

  • Occasional overtime and weekend work available on a voluntary basis

Required Qualifications (Must Have)
  • 1+ year of inventory control or related experience

  • Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment

  • Strong attention to detail with a high focus on accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (heavy use), Outlook, and Teams

  • Solid math and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with inventory or ERP systems such as Tandem or Prism

  • Finance or inventory reconciliation experience

  • Strong general computer and technology skills

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • No certifications required
