Kelly Science, a global staffing and solutions provider of specialty talent, is currently recruiting an entry-level, contract-to-hire laboratory position as a Lab Technician for a National gas and chemical company near Atlanta, GA. This is an excellent opportunity to gain Industry experience!

Temp-To-Hire; Shift 6AM-2:30PM Monday-Friday
Location: Atlanta GA
Hourly Pay Rate: $18

Job Summary: Performs analysis for specialty gases and finished product testing; assists scheduling of all mixes to be analyzed, proper storage, labeling and shipping. This employee will use gas chromatography to identify refrigerant gases by type and to determine their purities. Majority of duties will be performed in a chemical mfg warehouse. Must be familiar with low and high pressure gases and a strong background in physical chemistry or physics. Working knowledge of GC operation and results interpretation; and experienced in MS Office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Specific duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Perform routine production testing and quality control analysis of standard and specialty mixes.
• Assist in branch inspection/audit procedures and monthly inventory
• Review production records and release products for distribution.
• Prepares gas analysis reports for customer distribution using PC based software.
• Determining purity of unprocessed gases
• According to ARI standards, assuring purity of processed gases


Education and Qualifications: 

• Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Experience in laboratory analysis.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Basic knowledge of statistics and physical chemistry
• Limited movement of cylinders and some lifting up to 70lbs.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently to stand; handle tools, use hands and fingers to feel objects and controls.
