Join the team supporting the Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES) – Office of Inspector General (OIG) as a Legal Assistant II in Phoenix, AZ. Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85004
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm (4-Month Contract)
Hybrid Schedule: Fully onsite during training, then eligible for 1 remote day per week

Potential for full-time conversion based on performance within the first 4–5 weeks.

What's a typical day as a Legal Assistant II? You will:

Provide administrative and legal support to OIG attorneys and investigative staff.

Prepare, format, and maintain legal documents, reports, and case files.

Utilize Google Suite and Microsoft Office to draft correspondence and manage records.

Manage multiple systems and platforms while tracking case documentation and deadlines.

Ensure accuracy, organization, and strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Coordinate meetings, schedules, and internal communications.

Support compliance processes and document tracking procedures.

Follow agency security protocols and policies at all times.

Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite.

The ability to multitask across several systems and platforms efficiently.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.

The ability to work fully onsite initially in a secure government setting.

Legal education or prior experience supporting attorneys, investigators, or compliance teams (preferred).

Government or public sector experience (a plus).

Must be a local Phoenix, AZ candidate at the time of submission.

Must be available for interviews within one week of posting close and able to start within two weeks of offer.

Must be able to pass required security screening.
