Job Title: Machine Operator (1st Shift)
Location: Winsted, CT
Schedule: 3 Days a Week, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $19.58 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Job Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our team in Winsted, CT. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for processing products to specifications, operating and maintaining lap machines, and ensuring quality control throughout the production process. The ideal candidate should have experience in a manufacturing environment, be capable of performing inspections, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process products according to provided specifications, including cleaning, weighing/counting, and adhering to production schedules.

  • Load and unload materials, operate lap machines, and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper function.

  • Maintain and monitor oil levels, cut rates, pressures, and feed speeds to optimize machine performance.

  • Pump tanks and change lap slurries as required.

  • Perform in-process inspections, including ball checks and other dimensional measurements to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Accurately report processing information on routers and process log sheets.

  • Perform assigned repairs and preventive maintenance on machines.

  • Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and functioning properly before use.

  • Plot results on control charts when required.

  • Maintain items within the Tooling Control Program.

  • Keep cleaning media and equipment in good working order.

  • Identify nonconforming products and initiate Discrepancy Reports as needed.

  • Communicate any equipment problems immediately to supervision.

  • Ensure lot traceability throughout the production process.

  • Participate in cross-training activities to increase skill set and flexibility.

  • Read and understand new and revised specifications when mandated.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor/Management.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to maintain varied postures (sitting, standing, leaning forward, turning side to side) for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to transport product using hand carts, hoists, or other equipment.

  • Ability to push, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

  • General walking, standing, and bending throughout the day.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Ability to follow safety and quality standards and work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform inspections accurately.

  • Good communication skills for reporting issues and interacting with supervisors.

  • Ability to participate in cross-training and adapt to new processes.
