Kelly, in partnership with a growing manufacturer, is looking for a Maintenance Technician in Melvindale, MI.

This is a direct hire position, meaning you will be hired directly with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Details:
  • Training on 1st shift, then potential to move to night shift or stay on days (must be available for either)
  • Overtime available on Saturdays
  • $28 - $33 per hour
Job Description:
  • Maintain the electrical and mechanical systems within the plant. Use and operate all hand and power tools, maintenance and production equipment safely while performing these duties in an environmentally friendly manner; work in a team-oriented style with a mature problem-solving approach to provide services and knowledge to production as the customer; perform the required operational and safety inspections of the equipment; and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Assist other Maintenance Technicians and production employees on corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance issues for the facility.
  • Perform repair and monitoring work on electrical equipment and components in all areas of the plant and grounds including items such as the induction furnace's transformer, the substation, buss bars, lugs and connectors, capacitors, resistor banks, shunt cables, interlocks, motors, control panels, motor control centers, frequency drives, low and medium voltage equipment, electrical grounding, distribution wiring, interfaces, overhead cranes, electromagnets, limit and speed switches, direct and variable speed drives, electronic scales, safety controls, temperature controllers and recorders, bag sealers, chemical feed systems, bag house cleaning systems, fans, auto feed systems and controllers, limit switches, heaters, and lighting, as required.
  • Follow all lock out procedures, ensuring the removal of “all energy”, kinetic and electric, before commencing with repairs.
  • Work as a team player with other employees and outside service personnel to facilitate repairs.
  • Communicate the status of projects and repairs to supervision and other maintenance personnel on a shift to shift basis.
  • Work with various tools, devices and materials such as voltage testers, wire cutters, crimpers, torches, hammers, welders, drills, saws, grinders, amp meters, electrical tape, electrical wire and cable, conduit, lubricants and paints as required and all other tools related to the electrical trade.
Requirements:
  • We are looking for a strong Electro-Mechanical Technician, someone with 480v three phase motor experience as well as PLC troubleshooting.
