Position Overview

Pitney Bowes is seeking a performance-driven Maintenance Technician to support industrial mail sorting and conveyor equipment operations. This role requires strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex industrial equipment with minimal supervision.

This is a 3rd shift opportunity with the potential for permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and repair complex mechanical and electronic industrial equipment

  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems and sortation machines

  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime

  • Utilize inventory, PM schedules, and work order systems

  • Maintain spare parts and supply inventory

  • Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and parts diagrams

  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on:

    • Motors and drive assemblies

    • Belt and pulley systems

    • Hydraulic and pneumatic components

    • Photo-eyes, relays, proximity sensors, limit switches, solenoids

  • Use multimeters and electronic testing equipment safely and effectively

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment efficiency

Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment

  • Experience working with conveyor systems, sortation equipment, PLC systems, or automated production machinery

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance

  • Familiarity with Windows-based PC systems used in automated equipment

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced industrial environments

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
