Temporary Industrial Cleaner (Contract) – 2nd Shift
Location: Columbus, MS

Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour (DOE)
Shift Hours: 2nd Shift, 2:00pm–10:30pm, Monday–Friday

About the Role:
As an Industrial Cleaner, you'll help ensure the efficient and safe operation of the client's manufacturing and assembly center. You'll use industrial-grade equipment and follow strict safety protocols to maintain a clean, productive, and safe environment for everyone on site. This is a 2nd shift role (2:00pm–10:30pm, Monday–Friday), and it is a temporary contract position managed by Kelly Services, with flexible assignment length.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently operate industrial cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuums; may operate forklifts or aerial lifts.
  • Mix and apply cleaning agents according to SDS guidelines; ensure safe disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tool control throughout work areas and mobile work carts.
  • Support scheduled preventive maintenance, facility walk-throughs, and infrastructure upkeep.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repair work, focusing on paint booth systems and general repairs.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and Facilities Service Center requests.
  • Coordinate with external vendors when needed and participate in safety and environmental programs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning.
  • Comfort with cell phone, radio systems, and general computer skills (Google Suite or Microsoft Office).
  • Valid state driver's license and authorization to work in the US.
  • 100% onsite; full-time evening shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical or vocational certification (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Experience in industrial paint booth operations or environmental compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Standing, walking (including uneven surfaces), sitting, squatting or kneeling as needed during shift.
  • Ability to operate standard office and industrial equipment.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, etc.) as required.
