What's a typical day as a Material Handler II You will:

  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.  

  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.  

  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.  

  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.  

  • Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers.  

  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.  

  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.  

  • Uses computer to enter records.  

  • Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.  

  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.  

  • Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.  

  • Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. May perform other duties as required.  

  • Contributes to division results and performance.  

  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.

 

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • High school diploma or accredited GED. 

  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

  • General work experience in manufacturing or similar preferred
