 Microbiologist Lab Tech 
 
Job Specifications:

• Job Type: Contract
• Company: Leading Cosmetic & OTC Manufacturer
• Location: Carson, CA
• Shift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday, Occasional Saturday support
• Pay Rate: $25/hr

 
 
Responsibilities

• Create SOP for microbiological validation and development of new procedure
• Generate IQ, OQ, PQ for new equipment
• Assure all Microbiology and quality requirements are within compliance and standards
• Take part in Interlaboratory Comparison
• Logging in samples
• Perform laboratory testing including sample preparation and plating
• Perform microbial testing: APC, Y&M, HPC, Pathogen, Suitability, Gram Stain, Growth Promotion
• Reading, Analyze and Report Aerobic plate count, Yeast & mold, and HPC results
• Record, report and provide results (APC/YM, HPC, Gram Stain, Pathogen, Suitability) to QC Lab Management
• Investigate and report Out of Specification
• Perform Gram stain test
• Perform Growth promotion and Sterility test
• Responsible for Pathogen and Suitability testing
• Oversee Preparation, sterilization of media
• Maintain cleanliness, laboratory housekeeping, retain disposal and biohazard waste
• Oversee equipment preventive maintenance and daily check
• Oversee the inventory for media and supplies
• Maintain and complete all necessary micro documentations on time
• Provide environmental monitoring test results to QC Lab Management
• Train and teach new employee                                                                                                                                                    

Qualifications

• Degree in Microbiology, Biological Science or any related science
• Experience in regulated laboratory testing finished products, bulk products, raw material and water for microbiological purposes
• Good communication skills
• Must be able to lift, push and pull less than 25 pounds
