 Shipping/Receiving Clerk (1st Shift)

Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Position Type: Contract
Duration: August 11, 2025 - February 10, 2026
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch), OT required as needed

Role Summary:
As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will ensure the on-time flow of goods and materials from Receiving into inventory and from our Manufacturing to our customers. You will provide support to shipping, planning, sales, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unpack shipments, check for accuracy, and record shipments correctly.
  • Report issues with received goods to Inventory Control and Buyer.
  • Process shipping and receiving orders both paper-based and online, managing domestic and international suppliers and customers.
  • Coordinate pickups, track shipments, and troubleshoot by contacting suppliers and shipping companies.
  • Store materials in stockroom shelves and bins, maintaining organization.
  • Perform stockroom tasks like picking orders and cycle counting efficiently.
  • Conduct inventory reviews to ensure warehouse accuracy.
  • Maintain organized, current paper files.
  • Follow detailed procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Basic warehouse management knowledge.
  • Related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems like PRMS or SAP preferred.
  • Familiarity with online systems of carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.).
  • Ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds.
  • HS Diploma/GED and 4-5 years relevant experience.

Rate Information:

  • Max Pay Rate: $20.00 USD Per Hour based on experince
